Hey Beyonce, Your Alter Ego Sasha Fierce is Here

Totally feeling fierce today in this jersey bodycon leopard pencil skirt, cozy angora sweater, killer lion necklace, and gorgeous buttery leather bootie heels. Even though I picked out the pieces of this outfit because I know they're comfy, it also looks really fierce. This is a great look for one of those "fat" days. You know... when you wake up and you just feel bloated and don't feel like wearing real people clothes. Instead of caving to my yoga pants, uggs, and crew neck pullover, I went for a stretchy, non-constraining skirt and a loose-fitting sweater, which I partially tucked in to make it a little baggier in the front.

Black and Blue

You all should know by now that I love black and blue together, particularly navy. I spiced my usual navy and black combo up today with these sick metallic blue pants. If the light is really bright, they really shine, but they're slightly more subdued (for metallic cobalt pants) in dimmer light. It's really important not to let a statement piece just sit around in your closet after you've worn it once. Try and wear it in different ways so you're creating entirely new outfits that your statement piece works well with, like I did with these pants. I wore them in an older post with a button-up and a cashmere sweater, which is definitely preppier than today's edgier look.

Leopard IS A Neutral

I went for a partially ombre look with my blouse and pants today although the transitions between colors have a large difference in hue. I don't think it's something you'd notice if I didn't point it out because the ombre factor is fairly subtle. My eggplant shirt is a great way to wear color in the winter and pastel pink is making the rounds in fashion this winter, as well. While some people think leopard is a print and you have to match it with other neutrals, it's really become a neutral itself. Because classic leopard print consists of neutrals, as a whole, it becomes a neutral.

White Jeans

Part of being a trendsetter is breaking rules and not conforming to the status quo and what's socially acceptable. Here I am in white jeans in the middle of winter. I'd say that breaks some fashion rules and guess what, i don't care. They're pretty thick denim and since the rest of my outfit is made up of winter pieces, it totally works. Some seasonal pieces, like white denim, can really be carried over through seasons as long as you pair them properly.

Blossom

It's practically a heat wave today with a high of 37 in NYC so it only made sense to wear something floral and springy. I really love the sky blue of this shirt and the way the red and yellow pop so from afar it looks like its just splattered in different colors. It's a really soft and feminine look so I wasn't about to wear black with it. I opted for simple medium wash skinny jeans and chestnut lace-ups. I went totally all out floral for me, though. Even chose a pair of flower earrings to go with this outfit.

Yet another awards show... but the gorgeous red carpet gowns can keep on comin'. Some of these music geniuses sure know how to work a red carpet and a designer gown.

Beyonce looking perfect as always in Michael Costello.

Katy Perry looking ever so musical in Valentino.

Taylor Swift dazzles in Gucci.

Iggy Azalea looks sweet and edgy in Elie Saab.

Colbie Caillat is red hot in Ezra Couture.

Rita Ora shines in Lanvin.

Anna Kendrick shows a little skin in Azzaro.

Miranda Lambert is a stunner in Pamella Roland.

Anna Faris looks simple, sweet, and chic in navy.

Paris Couture Week

I've always dreamed of having a life where I had a reason to wear high end couture pieces. Some couture pieces are a little out there and for the Lady Gagas of the world and others are suited for the Kate Middletons. Now that I'm no longer a tween dreamer I'm really trying to make that life for myself where I have an excuse to wear some couture pieces, maybe even from some of the collections from Paris Couture week this past week. There's nothing that makes a fashionista swoon more than Paris Couture Week. The haute couture looks from high-end designers have every girl from 6-year-olds dreaming of being fairy princesses to real life princesses yearning to wear them.

One collection in particular has me drooling over it; that collection is Elie Saab - and it's left me speechless.

All of the collections were absolutely incredible including Viktor & Rolf, who were inspired by their new fragrance Bonbon.

Chanel included sneaker, knee-pad, and elbow-pad wearing models. (Although, wouldn't it have made more sense for models wearing heels to have some joint protection?? haha)

Valentino's spring/summer couture collection was on the wild side.

And Jean Paul Gaultier really spread his wings with this collection.
